The meal planner by Meier is pretty nice. If you sign-up for a free Meier account you can save and print recipes and automatically generated grocery lists. Takes a lot of the work out of meal planning and shopping! Wow. There are websites that do this also, but to be able to have a convenient widget on our own Fit Parents group page is better!

Yes, I agree. These are great tools. I like the variety in the meal planner. It was a great idea to add the exercises.

As parents we should have no excueses not to be fit... Do you go to a gym? Great! All power to you...

I believe, however, that as parents we should spend quality time with our kids, and what best way is it than play a little basketball with them, go roller blading with them (yes, you can learn it too - or perhaps you are great at it...)

We have a list of activities and we pick one for every evening (though recently we find ourselves spending most afternoons at the skating park). We do biking, hiking (we have woods right behind our house), swiming, surfing, rock climbing, etc.

It is a great way for both of you to stay fit and to spend quality time together. And while you drive or walk to your activities, instead of listening to music, talk about what's going on in their lives... This way, you kill two flies with one swat: 1. you get and stay fit and 2. you spend quality time with your kids (and don't end up when they ere 15 with your hands in the air screaming "I don't even know my kids anymore" :) )
