Parenting Athletes

I have a 13 year old daughter that enjoys playing basketball but she can not try out at the school she goes to until she is in 8 grade. I usual go to the park with her and wanted to know what kind of activity can I help her with to be a better player. I can not afford some of the leagues around the valley so this is what we do. I hope it is not too late for her to improve when it is time for her to try out next year. Thank You Sylvia
