I am a firm believer in developing talent in children when they are young. That's why I decided to create two Squidoo lenses which address this - one is for the parents and the other for the children. Children, when they are young, love to create and that love may carry over into life later on. When they are young, they need to be able to explore the avenues that are available for them and learn how to master their music.
Thank God we have the internet and we can really capitalize on the information that's available. Some of the research I uncovered really amazed me and I hope you will be able to use it with your children. The Bible says that children are a blessing and I believe that.
I discuss the effects of a music education on children in "Kids and Creativity" and how children can learn to be disciplined in their use of time to study music, particularly, the piano in "A Child's Guide to Greatness"

Since this economic crisis that we are experiencing, I have been concerned about the debt that teens are incurring. There is a need to educate our teens about responsible ways of handling debt and money. According to Larry Burkett, teens are carrying about 30% of the total debt in this country which is a significant amount. In order to prevent them from making the same or worse mistakes that we did, they need to be made aware of the consequences of not handling debt and finances properly.
I would like to explore ways with the parents to educate their children and to also help the parents who are stuggling with theses issues themselves. Not many people grow up knowing how to plan and budget their money. According to finacial experts, only 10% of the people in this country actually make plans for their finaces and keep track of their personal budget.
Our debt is getting out of control and more people need to know how they can avoid not having resources to turn to when this cycles again. Therefore, I have created an organization called
S.A.V.E.M.M. - Students Assembled to Value Economical Money Management. Students can receive a valuable newsletter with tips on handling money and credit cards as well as commit to handle their finances responsibly.
